Three independent albums released, several among his tracks have had important placements in TV and media industry around the world (BBC, France 2, La 1, Rai, TVE, South Korea, Japan, etc.)

Al started his journey as bass player, after moving to London in 2000 he began expanding his research to all kinds of music and food.. opening up new possibilities.

In 2004 he founded the Round Coloured Note, a project/band/idea inspired by the reading of sufi master Hazrat Inayat Khan, Hendrix, the Beatles, Sly and the Family Stone and the new winds of world music blowing through the UK capital..

Exposed to the many cultures of London he encountered the lute from Middle East called saz (baglama) which he started using in recording sessions initially, then more and more during his concerts.

Al-Maranca considers saz a bridge instrument between East and West, his music embraces four continents(Africa, Europe, Asia, America).

With Saz Power Al takes a very traditional instrument into dimensions of groove, electric force and psychedelia, with the help of effects and loops.

He's currently working on four different new albums and often performing in London and Europe with his unique sounding Saz Power trio.

Al is also bass player from the acclaimed world fusion band The Turbans.

He is involved in community projects which promote arts, culture, recycling and sustainability in UK.
